RUGER SKELETON STOCK PRODUCTION YEARS SERIAL NUMBER
Another 7mm-08 I have is stainless w/black laminated stock and its awful close serial number wise to the so called rare skeleton model. RARE RUGER M77 MARK II SKELETON PADDLE STOCK ZYTEL NR 22 inch barrel. I bought it new and it came in a 50th ann. I have one from the skeleton blued runs in 7mm-08. There might have been some overruns without the engraved floorplate too. The only stainless I can recall at the moment that Id consider uncommon was the 1of1000's in 264 with the engraved floor plate. Some of the blued skeleton models I can think of off the top of my head were 7mm-08, 264WM, and 35 Whelen. And the 7mm-08 in question has a serial number prefix towards the very end of the MkII production and I'd bet a weeks paycheck there is no way in h&$$ that would letter. I do know one thing.the short mags were never done in a skeleton. 1999 or so was about the last I saw of them then pretty much everything was in the new synthetic stock. I dont think im wrong with what i see here as far as the rifles and configurations but if i am, I apologize.Ī lot of them clean ups were blued actions in a skeleton stock and a lot of them around the time they came in 50th ann. You cant always keep a fool from parting with his money but thought attention needed to be brought to this.

Its sad to see but I do think someone is trying to take advantage of the recent surge and crazy prices being paid for these rifles. I sent a message to the seller calling him out on this also. this is hard to find Ruger 77/22 All-weather stainless skeleton stock with. Not everyone does their homework before bidding/buying like they should but you should also expect some honesty from the seller as well. Ruger M77 22-250 Serial number dates mid-1980s manufacture but in original. Looks to me like someone started buying up skeleton stocks and swapping them on to other rifles and is trying to pass them off as rare models. They only came out in the newer stlye synthetic stocks. Also made years after the skeletons were discontinued. This guy also has a pair of 7mm saum's in skeleton stocks. A 792 prefix would put this towards the end of the MkII production. prefix that puts this rifle way past the days of the skeleton stocks. Beginning Serial Number: Years of Production: 700-00001, 1984. The link shows a skeleton stocked 77 with a serial no. 77/22 & 77/17 Rifle Calibers: 22 LR, 22 Mag, 17 HMR, 17 WSM, 17 Hornet. Someone correct me if im in the wrong here.
